Ocean Spray Looks To Relocate Bottling Plant To Upper Macungie Township

Ocean Spray has moved one step closer to relocating a New Jersey bottling plant to a 44-acre swath of land in Upper Macungie Township, a project officials described as a priority for the Corbett administration.

The Massachusetts-based juice giant was revealed as the designated occupant for the prime parcel late Tuesday night in a heated Upper Macungie Board of Supervisors meeting.

After nearly three years of behind-the-scenes negotiations, the $110 million project would bring to the region 165 jobs with an average salary of $49,000, according to state and local officials.
