The former home of the Pittsburgh Penguins will be torn down.  The Civic Arena demolition has been hotly contested but crews are on site and work has finally begun.  Demolition will take until May to complete.  The 28-acre site will become a mixed-use area for retail, residential and commercial development.

The Civic Arena was replaced by the Consol Energy Center as the new home of the Pittsburgh Penguins.
